The Holy Relic from the Vatopedi Monastery for the first time in Thessaloniki in November
An Episcopal Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Larissa. The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan of Ptolemais, Mr. Emmanuel, concelebrating with His Eminence Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ignatius.
The Divine Word was preached by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, Elder Ephraim, who spoke about the Virgin Mary and the grace of the Holy Belt, saying: "Brothers of Larissa, the Holy Belt is leaving, but the grace of the Virgin Mary will remain in your place and in your hearts!".
Then, with due honors, the Holy Belt was taken out of the Church, and His Eminence Metropolitan Ignatius blessed all the pilgrims with the Holy Belt. Before departing from the city of Larissa, the Holy Belt was transferred to the 1st Army, the Fire Department and the Police for the blessing and sanctification of all.
